Yvonne Farah

YVONNE FARAH (nee Abi-Hassan) age 93, beloved wife of the late Alberto; loving mother of Dolores “Dolly” DeBlase (husband Samuel), Joseph, Josette “Josie”, and the late Edward; devoted grandmother of Patrick and Paul DeBlase and great-grandmother of Katherine.

Yvonne was born on November 24, 1923 in Beirut, Lebanon and passed away on November 8, 2017. She was a resident of University Heights since 1959, formerly of Cleveland Heights. Yvonne was a member of St. Maron Catholic Church and Gesu Catholic Church where she sang in the choir. She was a member of the Lebanese Syrian Woman’s Junior League and volunteered to cook and bake at St. Maron Catholic Church. Yvonne attended school in Lebanon and was a homemaker, seamstress and translator for the Cleveland Clinic. She loved gardening, sewing, baking, cooking and was an avid reader. Yvonne also enjoyed being the hat and coat check lady at the Guard House Restaurant. She will be remembered most as an outgoing, social, giving, and generous woman who loved life. Yvonne was selfless, hardworking, independent, funny and witty. She will be greatly missed.

Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 11 AM at St. Maron Catholic Church, 1245 Carnegie Ave., Cleveland, OH 44115. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Yvonne at THE CHURCH THURSDAY MORNING 10-11 AM. Arrangements by THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.).
