WILLIAM C. STUDLY, LTC. U.S. ARMY, age 76; beloved husband for 18 years of Diane (nee Impullitti); loving father of William Todd Studly (deceased), Darren Troy Studly, Christian Tyler Studly (wife Liz), and James Clifford Swaye (wife Holly); devoted grandfather of Micaela, Cameron and Jackson Studly and Savannah and Taylor Swaye; cherished son of the late Dorothy (nee Conrad) and Adelbert Studly; dearest brother of Paul Studly (wife Janice); dear uncle of David and Karen Studly and many other nieces and nephews.

Bill a lifelong resident of Lyndhurst, Ohio passed away on July 15, 2017 after battling lung cancer. He was a 1959 graduate of Brush High School and later attended Kent State University. Bill was an avid fisherman and spent many summers at a family cabin near Campbellford, Ontario, Canada. He was quite interested in following the general news and financial news of the day. Bill was a former U.S. Army Officer having served in Vietnam as a military advisor to a 400+ man Vietnamese company of solders mainly remaining in the bush away from base camp most of the times where he felt safer. On returning home from Vietnam he was promoted to Captain and spent an additional year in the Army at El Paso, Texas. He was fascinated with looking at Vietnam via Google Earth commenting on the dramatic changes from the time he served there.

Celebration of Life Service Thursday July 20, 2017 at 9:30AM at THE FUNERAL HOME. Private burial following with Military Honors at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Bill at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) WEDNESDAY 4-8 PM.
