WILLIAM D. JOHERL age 75, beloved husband for 25 years of Esther (Vocaire) (nee Girbino) and the late Nancy (nee Yochum); loving father of Janene Vocaire, William R. (wife Theresa), John Vocaire, Kristine Dargai (husband John), Anthony Vocaire, Jr., Michelle Venorsky (husband James), and Debra Valadez (husband David); devoted papa of Billy, Julia, twins Morgan and Ian, Luke, Jake, Natalie, Olivia, Graydon, and Addy; cherished son of the late William G. and Frances (nee Barnoski); dearest brother of Dennis (wife Charlotte), Wayne, Doug (wife Christina), and Kathleen Shaughnessy (husband Mike, deceased); treasured brother-in-law of John Girbino and Elmer and Beverly Guiher; dear uncle, great-uncle and friend of many.
Bill was born on August 15, 1942 in Cleveland and passed away on September 23, 2017. He was a resident of Solon for 25 years, formerly of Mentor and grew up in Highland Heights. Bill was a member of the Church of the Resurrection in Solon for many years where he was involved in the bereavement ministry. He was a member of the NRA. Bill graduated from Mayfield High School in 1960 and received his Associate’s Degree from John Carroll University. He worked for TRW and Gould as an electrical engineer. Bill loved boating, hunting, fishing, coaching his children in baseball, gardening and traveling, especially to Europe and the United States and most recently enjoyed a hunting trip with his son Bill and cousins Anthony and Angelo to Wyoming where he got his antelope. He loved to work on cars. Bill will be remembered most as a patient, kind, generous, understanding, sincere and trustworthy man. He was methodical, meticulous, faithful and spiritual. Bill had a dry sense of humor and was outgoing, witty and funny. His family was the most important thing in his life and said many times “whatever Esther wants.” Bill will be dearly missed.

Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Church of the Resurrection 32001 Cannon Rd., Solon at 11:30 AM. Cremation following by DeJohn Crematory. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Bill at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) FRIDAY 2-4 & 5-8 PM.
