William J. Stepanek

WILLIAM J. STEPANEK age 92, beloved husband for 66 years of Connie (nee Gleason); loving father of William Jr (wife Laura), John (wife Mary), Michael (wife Susan), Timothy (wife Therese), Sheila (wife Suzanne Hesseloff), and Brian (wife Parisa); devoted grandfather of 18 and great-grandfather of 7; cherished son of the late Steve and Josephine (nee Zehe); dearest brother of the late Lois Summers (husband Robert, deceased), the late Jeanne Snitzky (husband Larry, deceased) and the late James (wife Patricia); dear uncle and great-uncle and friend of many. Survived by his canine companion Clancy.

Bill was born on May 26, 1930 and passed away peacefully on September 7, 2022.  He grew up in Cleveland Heights and graduated from St. Ignatius High School in 1948 and John Carroll University in 1952. He and his wife Connie raised their children in Gates Mills. They were parishioners of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Bill was the owner and operator of his custom products company for many years. He truly enjoyed spending time with his family and playing both golf and tennis. Bill and Connie also loved traveling. He was a social, friendly and hospitable man who loved to entertain. Bill will be remembered most as being a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will forever be missed.

Relatives and friends are requested to meet for the Mass of Christian Burial Monday, September 12, 2022, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church 6850 Mayfield Rd, Gates Mills, OH 44040 at 10 AM. Burial following at Gates Mills North Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Bill at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) SUNDAY 5:30-8PM.
