WILLIAM J. FLECKENSTEIN age 82, beloved husband for 62 years of Elsie (nee Belaska); loving father of Christine Fleckenstein-Adams (husband Michael) and Patrice; cherished son of the late William L. and Regina (nee Eppich); dearest brother of the late Rita Peters (husband Charles deceased) and Regina Gerber (husband Frank deceased); treasured brother-in-law of Eileen Sprague (Elsie’s twin sister); dear uncle and great-uncle and friend of many.
Bill was born in Cleveland on June 24, 1941, and passed away on November 28, 2023. He graduated from Cathedral Latin High School in 1959. He and Elsie married and had two beautiful daughters. He lived in Chesterland for 30 years. Bill went into the Medical Engineering field and became a Senior Draftsman for Picker X-Ray Corporation. Bill was a very involved member of St. Anselm Catholic church for 30 years. He was a Eucharistic Minister serving at Mass and at Thanksgiving Dinner at St. Anselm, running the kitchen and working at festivals. He was a member of Young of Heart club at St. Anselm and of the E.O.U.V Club.
Bill was very artistic and spent time woodworking, making grandfather clocks and ceramics. He enjoyed golfing and bowling and was a big Cleveland Browns and Indians fan. He loved to coach softball and to travel, especially to Medjugorje. His family describes him as hard working and sociable. He was giving, selfless, kind and was devoted to his family, his faith and to his friends. He had a great sense of humor and loved polka music. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at St. Anselm Catholic Church, 12969 Chillicothe Rd, Chesterland, OH 44026 at 11 AM. Entombment following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Bill at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) TUESDAY from 4-8 PM.
