William Gavalek

WILLIAM J. “BILLY” GAVALEK age 60, beloved husband for 25 years of Nadine (nee DeSapri); cherished son of  the late William and Josephine (nee Burnaka); brother of Lynne Longo (husband Dean); dearest son-in-law of Ada and the late Armando DeSapri; cherished brother-in-law of Dennis and Celeste DeSapri and Lino DeSapri; dearest uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend of many.

William J. “Billy” Gavalek was born on December 1, 1960 in Cleveland, Ohio.  Bill attended and played football at Wickliffe High School where he graduated in 1979.  Bill and his wife, Nadine were married in 1995 and live in Highland Heights, OH.  After leaving LTV Steel, Bill eventually became a valued employee of First Energy as a maintenance engineer providing services throughout its facilities.

Bill had an avid interest in the matters affecting our country.  He was a true patriot and believed in the importance of the constitution and history of the United States of America.   He also relished being outdoors hiking with Koach, fishing and hunting.   Bill had many fond memories of hunting in the woods with his father as a young boy.  When it came to music, Rock-n-Roll always got Bill to sing out loud.

With a wonderful wit and sense of humor, genuine concern for others he was quick to offer his bear hugs, wide smile, warm heart and helping hand to others.  Bill was hardworking and loyal and will be remembered by all as a generous and giving man.  Those who know him describe him as a great guy with a big heart, who loved the people in his life.

“Serve one another humbly in love.”
Galatians 5:13
