Emblem

William “Bill” Brochetti, 91, of Willoughby Hills passed away peacefully on October 11th, 2024. Beloved husband of Virginia “Jean” (nee Cerny) for 68 years, cherished father of Gary and Ron (Vicki). Devoted grandfather of Ashley (Mike), Matthew, Markus, and Lorelei; loving great-grandfather of Evelyn Byrne. Brother of Frank (Roseanne) and Fred (Sandy). Treasured father-in-law of Dawn, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend of many. Preceded in death by his parents, Angelo and Lida, brothers John (Liz deceased) and Lou (Laura), sisters Mary Bernardo (Bill deceased) and Josephine Dorazio (Joe deceased). U.S. Army Veteran.

Originally from Yatesboro, PA, Bill set out for a new life on the east side of Cleveland in 1953. Drafted into the Army, he spent time in Long Island, NY and Nancy, France. Returning from overseas, he married his high school sweetheart, Jean --- the classic sports letterman marries cheerleader. Bill started his 35-year career at the GM Fisher Body plant, moved to the suburbs of Lake County and started a family. Always a giving and social person, Bill was active at church, Boy Scouts, and as a leader of the Euclid Knights of Columbus. He became Grand Knight of the Greater Cleveland area Immaculata Council #3767. Bill enjoyed hunting, camping, golfing, woodworking, vacationing with family, and dessert. The family made frequent trips to visit his parents and siblings back home. He was always available to help friends and family with home repair, auto repair, and landscaping tasks. After retirement, Bill and Jean built their dream home where he continued to host the next generation. He lovingly and proudly became ‘Nono’ to Jean’s ‘Nona.’ His grandchildren and great-granddaughter brought him joy. His sons are forever grateful for everything he taught them and everything he allowed them to learn. He had a firm grip on a long leash. Bill’s sense of humor and warm smile will be lovingly remembered by his devoted family.

The family thanks Homewatch CareGivers, Kemper House, and Ohio Living Hospice for their kindness.
