Violette Saluan

Violette Najem Saluan (3/15/34 – 2/7/21);  adored wife of the late Maron D. Saluan; treasured mother of: Rowena Ina (Michael); Maurice (Patricia); Gizelle Ina (Mayroun- Mike); Colette Carson (Bill); Lidia Richani (Naji); Andrew (Chrissie); and Paul, MD( Deborah); dearest Tattee (Grandmother) of 23 and loving Great Grandmother of 14; caring sister of: the late Henry (JoAnn); William (JoAnn); Albert (Raymonda); the late Maurice (Henriette); the late John (Diana); Jeanette Abood (James – deceased) and Nehme (Lillie); admired Godmother and loving friend of many!

Our beautiful, amazing, faithful, matriarch and Queen, Violette, immigrated from Lebanon to America at the young age of 19. This brave young bride followed her adoring husband, Maron, to start the beautiful adventure of her life…their life. She made the family house a loving home and filled it with 7 children! In addition, her modest family home housed a village! In the early years, Violette and her devoted husband facilitated, assisted and supported the immigration of BOTH of their families from Lebanon to America. As each of over 20 family members arrived, she made her home into their home. Mother, sister and caregiver to each one, she worked tirelessly for them and loved every minute. Constantly hosting family and friends brought her joy. She was the best cook and always cooked for an army! That army always showed up!

She was a stay at home mom because her family was always her priority. But she was also the family stock trader, the neighborhood Avon lady and assisted Maron in their real estate ventures in Naples, Florida that they introduced and shared with their closest friends and family. Amazing, indeed! In their later years, Naples, Florida became their home away from home.

Filled with faith, Violette belonged to St. Maron’s Church and The Church of the Gesu in Cleveland, Ohio and St. John the Evangelist in Naples, Florida. She prayed avidly to all her favorite saints every day. She was proud and honored to attend the canonization of our Lebanese Saint Charbel in Rome in 1977! After her beloved husband passed over 26 years ago, her faith family in Naples, Florida held her up as she traveled the whole world with them. She loved life and traveling and made friends with everyone along the way.

Violette cherished God, her family and all of her friends. Now she is reunited with the love of her life and all the family who have gone before her. We will miss her every minute of every day but are grateful to have our Queen Angel at peace and watching over us.
