Violet Prince

VIOLET JEAN PRINCE (nee Proch) age 94, loving mother of Robert (wife Donna); dedicated grandmother of Lauren (husband Gregory) Collins, Lisa (husband Matthew) Franklin and “big” grandma of great-grandchildren Amelia, Grant and Owen Collins; devoted daughter of the late Peter and Barbara (nee Chupa) Proch.

Violet worked for Western Union for many years, where she met her companion Bill Jacobs. Over the years they spent many happy times together with his family, and she missed him greatly upon his passing. Violet also made many friends at Western Union, whom she kept in contact with to this day, even though her retirement was 29 years ago in 1989. She filled her days caring for her mother and devoting her time to her family and friends. She never missed sending a card on your birthday and loved keeping in touch through notes. Violet was a “forever” friend and made friends wherever she went, because strangers did not exist in her world. She was best friends with Stella Campbell for over 80 years and loved her family as her own. She also spoke daily to her dear friend Emily Woos. Violet was the epitome of pleasantness, the eternal optimist, and a serial romantic. She touched many lives with her joy for life and true concern for others. Violet will be greatly missed, as she brought love and joy everywhere she went.

Celebration of Life Service MONDAY, DECEMBER 3, 2018 at 10 AM at THE FUNERAL HOME. Burial following at Hillcrest Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Violet at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) SUNDAY 2-6 PM.
