Vida Rupnik

VIDA RUPNIK (nee Smuk) age 93, beloved wife of  the late Franc; cherished daughter of the late John and Maria (nee Kralj) Smuk; dearest sister of Maria Kralj  (husband Anton, deceased) and the late Milan Smuk (wife Dorothy, deceased), Ivan Smuk, Joe Smuk (wife Anne) and Anton Smuk (wife Theresa); dear aunt of Donald, Simon, Tony and Frank Smuk and great-aunt of many.

Vida was born on June 15, 1925 in Mlake, Slovenia and passed away on February 25, 2019. She came to the US in 1950. Vida lived in Chesterland for 24 years and formerly Richmond Heights. She was a member of St. Vitus Church, the Belo Club, Pensioners and Pristava. Vida graduate from high school in Slovenia. She was an inspector at Cleveland Twist Drill and retired after 40 years. Vida enjoyed traveling to Slovenia and being a grandma to her three nephews. She loved her polka music, cooking/baking and dancing at Slovenia events. Vida will be remembered as a caring, loving, friendly, giving, generous and hospitable woman that was proud of her Slovenia heritage. She will be greatly missed.

Mass of Christian Burial Friday, March 1, 2019 at 10 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church (Holmes Ave). Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Vida at THE ZEVNIK-COSIC FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) THURSDAY, 4-8 PM.
