Veronika “Vera” Udovic

VERONIKA F. “VERA” UDOVIC (nee Filipcic) age 87, beloved wife of the late Drago M.; loving mother of Drago (wife Rose); cherished daughter of the late Joze and Franceska (nee Ivancic) Filipcic; dearest sister of the late Joze Filipcic, Marija Vergan, and Pavla Udovic; dear aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Veronika was born on April 9, 1934 in Tatre, Slovenia and passed away on August 13, 2021. In 1955, she and her husband came to the United States and first settled in Cleveland, Ohio. She lived in Euclid, Ohio and settled in Wickliffe, Ohio after retiring from the Euclid Board of Education, where she dedicated many years as a custodian. You could find Vera enjoying her time gardening, doing needlepoint, and listening to Slovenian music. She was devoted to her faith and extremely proud of her heritage. Vera loved attending Mass and staying active in Slovenska Narodna Podporna Jednota and the Primorski Club. Vera’s strong will and devotion will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Vera to St. Mary Catholic Church.

Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 15519 Holmes Ave., Cleveland at 10 AM. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Vera at THE ZEVNIK-COSIC FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) TUESDAY 4-8 PM.
