Veronika Fabec

VERONIKA FABEC (nee Hocevar) age 81, beloved wife for 54 years of the late ­­­­­James; loving mother of David (wife Lisa) and Marian; devoted grandmother of David and Jessica Jones, and Cassandra Fabec and great-grandmother of Athena Wyatt; cherished daughter of the late Louis and Antonia Hocevar; youngest sister of 15; dear aunt, great-aunt, and great great-aunt of many; lover of her family pets Reese, and the late Cindy, Storm, and Sage. .

Veronika was born on March 6, 1941, in Kal Slovenia and had been a resident of Willoughby Hills for the past 53 years. As a resident of the area and woman of faith, she attended St. John of the Cross Catholic Church. Proud of her heritage, she enjoyed Polka music and singing in a Slovenian singing group. She enjoyed playing Bingo, gardening, growing flowers, and knitting. She also spent a lot of time baking and cooking every Sunday and for special occasions, such as Easter Brunch. Together she and the family played cards and simply relished each other’s company. Veronika was a stubborn Slovenian that ruled the family with love. A love that made her family who they are today. On September 22, 2022, this loving, caring, accepting, and strong-willed woman passed away leaving her friends and family missing her dearly.

Celebration of Life Service Saturday October 1, 2022, at 11 AM at THE FUNERAL HOME.

Burial following at All Souls Cemetery.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Veronika at THE ZEVNIK-COSIC FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) Friday, September 30, 2022, from 4-8 PM.
