Veronica Janezic

VERONICA JANEŽIČ (nee Šepin) age 94, beloved wife of the late Stanley for 52 years; loving mother of Stella Saylor (husband Darrell), Veronica Fetsko (husband Gary), and the late John (wife Cynthia); devoted grandmother of Stephen Saylor (fiancé Jennifer Walton), Eric Saylor (wife Heidi), Matthew Saylor, Monica Saylor (husband Greg Sislak), Michael Fetsko (wife Jodi), Brenton Janezic (wife Meaghan Clarke), Ashley Rhyne (husband Marshall), Rachel Fetsko, William Fetsko, and Andrew Fetsko and great-grandmother of Benjamin and William Fetsko, Eliza and Margo Rhyne, Owen Saylor, Wyatt and Emmett Sislak; cherished daughter of the late Franc and Ivana (nee Smole) Šepin; dearest sister of the late Ivanka Erceg, Franci Šepin, Antonija Šega, and Anna Klammer Bostjančič; dear aunt and great-aunt of many.

Veronica was born on December 26, 1929, in Dravlje Pri Ljubljana, and immigrated to the United States in 1951. Strong in her faith and her heritage, she was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, St. Mary's Altar Society, Slovenska Pristava, and the Pristava Pensioneers Club. Veronica also embraced her heritage through the meals she made for her family. She was a fabulous cook and made the best dumpling soup, and fried chicken, however it was her homemade soup and egg noodles that awarded her the title of "Soup-er Grandma". Veronica was an accomplished gardener, her flowers stood out in the neighborhood. She loved the ocean and relished trips to Florida, and most importantly, time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Veronica was strong and independent, throughout the journey of her life. We will all miss her beautiful blue eyes and contagious smile. On July 10, 2024, Veronica was awarded eternal peace and rest.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Veronica at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, 15519 Holmes Avenue, Cleveland, on Saturday, July 20, 2024, from 9-10 AM.

Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at the church at 10 AM.

Burial following at All Souls Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Veronica to either St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church or to Slovenska Pristava, 5900 SOM Center Road, Suite 12 - #125, Willoughby, OH 44094-3086.
