Timothy K. Freeman

TIMOTHY K. FREEMAN age 87, beloved husband for 66 years of Bettye (nee Flickinger); loving father of Kevin (Mary), Kip (Chris), Kileen (Blake) Sturgis, and Korey (Lisa Dunn); devoted grandfather of  Brandon (Lauren), Blake (Lindsey), Brittany (Greg) Sustar, Bryson (Victoria), Brett (Cyerra), Bailey (Joey) Gragg, Christopher (Kate) Parente, Rachael, Mitchell, Rory, Brody, and the late Blaire and great-grandfather of Quinn, Kinsley, Hudson, Mercedes, Madison, Morgan, Brayden, Braxton, Luca, and Madeleine; cherished son of the late Gordon and Lucy (nee Shaw); dearest brother of the late Patricia (Walter) Gregg and Kathleen (Robert) Brown; and brother-in-law of Ronald Byler.

Timothy was born on December 20, 1936, and was a lifelong resident of Burton, Ohio. He graduated from Burton High School in 1954 and enjoyed getting together for class reunions. Tim proudly owned and operated Russell Sohio Service Station for nearly 40 years. He was forever active and involved, whether he was golfing, woodworking, mowing everyone’s lawn, meeting with the members of Burton Jaycee, or participating in The Great Geauga Fair. He was an award winner for his home-grown vegetables and flowers, and maple syrup, which he made with his friends at Mini Maple Farms. Tim was an avid golfer and president of the Beer Golf League, which consisted of his treasured golf friends. Above all, Tim loved time spent with his family. Over the years, he and Bettye enjoyed line dancing and traveling to various places. No matter the setting, he was the life of the party and able to talk to anyone with his easy-going personality. On January 3, 2024, Tim passed away with family by his side. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Tim at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) Wednesday, January 10, 2024, from 3-7 PM and Thursday, January 11, 2024, from 11AM – 12Noon.

Celebration of Life Service Thursday, January 11, 2024, at 12 Noon at THE FUNERAL HOME. Burial following at Welton Cemetery.
