THOMAS D. WEILER, age 72, of Cleveland Heights, entered into eternal life, Monday February 13, 2017.
Thomas was born in Cleveland to the late Thomas D., Sr. and Mary Loyola (nee Cassidy). He lived in East Cleveland, Cleveland Heights, and Columbus, OH. He was a member of the former St. Louis Church in Cleveland Heights. He also was a member of the Sierra Club environmental organization. Thomas attended preparatory school at St. Charles Borromeo in Columbus, OH. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Cleveland State University and worked for the last 35 years for the Cleveland Public School System. Thomas spent his free time reading, writing and in getting involved with politics. Thomas had a keen interest in social justice and environmental issues.
Thomas was the loving brother of Terrence M. Weiler and Kevin P. Weiler (wife Jennifer); dear uncle of Kevin, Jr. Weiler (wife Stacey), Colleen Weiler (fiancé Bryan Henderson), Jacqueline Weiler (fiancé David Grinnell); cherished companion of Linda Tortorice; fond nephew of Cecelia Cavanaugh (husband Robert), Paul Cassidy (deceased) (wife Elise), and the late Albert J. (wife Pauline) (wife Betty), James D. (wife Thelma) (wife Dolly), John J. Cassidy Jr. (wife Teri), Robert B. Cassidy ( Mary May), and Rosemary Rath (husband Charles); and cousin to many.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, February 17, 2017 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church at 10am. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Thomas at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) THURSDAY 4-8 PM.
