Thomas was born on September 30, 1956, in South Euclid, Ohio and lived there for the first 11 years of his life. He then went on to live in Richmond Heights for 20 years until previously residing in Parma for the last 35 years. Thom attended Sunbeam School until 9th grade and went on to graduate from Mayfield Heights High School in 1975. Upon his graduation, Thom continued his education at both John Carroll University and Lakeland Community College. Despite the challenges life threw his way, Thom overcame a lot. His car was equipped with hand controls which allowed him to work many years for Society National Bank and eventually Firestone Company, to which he retired. He enjoyed traveling with his friends and often took trips downtown to watch a baseball game or attend a concert. He was also the founder and President of the Jackson 5 Fan Club. A man of faith, he was a parishioner of St. Paschal’s during his time in the Cleveland area and while in Parma he received Communion from St. Albert the Great. Thom adored his family, which included his beloved cat Gilligan, and loved time spent with them. On July 14, 2023, with family by his side, Thom passed away. He leaves a legacy on how to live an amazing life while being an example to countless others on how to lead a life of dignity, courage, and boundless optimism. He was, is, and will continue to be an example to all of us on how to fully utilize the gifts God gave each of us.
The family would like to thank Legacy Parma for their many years of loving care and The Cleveland Clinic for 60 years of wonderful attention to all his needs.
