THOMAS P. KICHER, PHD age 84, retired Professor and Dean of Engineering at Case Western Reserve University, beloved husband for 60 years of Janet (nee Logan); loving father of Rita (deceased), Paul (wife Allison), and Laura Chamberlin (husband Sean); devoted grandfather of Mackenzie and Peyton Kicher and Macey, Regan, and Keely Chamberlin; cherished son of the late  William  and Mary  (nee Divany); dearest brother of William (deceased) (wife Patricia), Mary Balcerzak (husband Stan), Judy Dyroff (husband William); dear brother-in-law uncle and great-uncle of many.

Tom was born on October 20, 1937 in Johnsonburg, PA and passed away on February 19, 2022. He graduated from Johnsonburg High School in 1955 and continued his education at Case Institute of Technology  where he earned his undergraduate degree in 1959, Masters in 1962 and PhD in 1965.  Tom went on to serve as a Professor and Dean of Engineering at Case Western Reserve University.  He and his wife lived in Willoughby Hills for 30 years, previously residing in South Euclid.  They are long-time parishioners at St. Noel Catholic Church, where he served as a sacristan and eucharistic minister. Tom was also a proud member of the Case Alumni Association.  He served his community as a member of the Civil Service Commission of Willoughby Hills.  He personally enjoyed woodworking, golf, genealogy and studying the history of CWRU.  He enjoyed spending time with his grand-daughters at the their sporting events and at the Outer Banks.  Tom also enjoyed classical and opera music and watching the Cleveland Indians.  His family describes him as an educator, always teaching, social, having a great sense of humor, with quiet dignity, and a man devoted to and proud of his family and faith.  Tom will be missed dearly and remembered in the hearts of all.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Tom to the Mt. St. Joseph Rehabilitation Center 21800 Chardon Rd. Euclid OH 44117. Relatives and friends are requested to meet for the Mass of Christian Burial Friday, February 25, 2022 at St. Noel Catholic Church 35200 Chardon Rd. Willoughby Hills, OH, 44094  at 11 AM. Private burial at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Tom at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) THURSDAY 4-8 PM.
