Thomas Kascak

THOMAS MICHAEL KASCAK, aged 90 years, dearly beloved husband for 68 years to the late Anne Marie (nee Sabol), who passed away March 9, 2015, dear father of Thomas Edward (deceased) (wife Susan), Karen Diemer (deceased) and Kevin (wife Nancy), loving grandfather of Thomas (wife Melissa), David (wife Kimberly), Matthew (wife Magdalena), and Kimberly Kascak, great-grandfather of Sadie, devoted son of the late Steve and Sophia (nee Vihansky), cherished brother of John (wife Katherine) (both deceased), fond uncle and great-uncle. Mr. Kascak was born on December 13, 1924 in Cleveland. At the time of his retirement, he was Vice-President for commercial lending at Huntington / Union Commerce Bank, where he had worked for 17 years. He was a United States Army Veteran, serving as a tank commander and in the infantry.

Following his military service, Tom was offered a try-out with the Pittsburgh minor league baseball organization. He was a fan of all sports, and an avid Indians, Browns and Cavaliers fan. He held season tickets for the Cleveland Browns for many years.

Tom and his late wife Anne Marie were founding members of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Shaker Heights. His greatest pleasures in life were his family, the holidays (with all the trimmings), and attending Browns and Indians games (especially when they won!!). As far as his favorite music, nothing gave him more enjoyment than listening to the music of his son Kevin’s bands.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 27, 2015 at St. Dominic Catholic Church (Van Aken at Norwood) at 11 AM. Entombment following in All Souls Cemetery. The Family will receive friends to pay tribute and celebrate the life of Tom at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just East of Green Rd.) SUNDAY 3-6 PM.
