THOMAS A. “TOMMY TY-RAP” CURTIS age 78, beloved husband for 55 years of Carol  (nee Burkholder); loving father of Christina Brown (husband Todd), Thomas (wife Holly) and Dion; devoted grandfather of 9 and great-grandfather of 3; beloved son of the late Joseph and Anna (nee Pastuick); dearest brother of Helen Joca, and the late Joseph, Charles, and JoAnn Dulc; dear uncle and great-uncle of many. Survived by his K-9 companion Spirit. In lieu of flowers, please send your prayers.

Thomas was born in Alva, PA on July 17, 1941, and passed away March 10, 2020.  He was a resident of Kirtland for the past 48 years and living in Eastlake prior to that.  He is a 1961 graduate of Eastlake North High School and went on to become an electrician, specializing as a splicer, affording him an opportunity to work on the Alaska Pipeline and on Ellis Island.  His hobbies included dancing, listening to his favorite spiritual and country music, and visiting the casinos, especially the slots.  He loved wildlife, feeding animals, hunting, golfing, and his motorcycle. Traveling for work was a favorite activity.  Thomas was an active member of Divine Word Catholic Church.  He belonged to the Fraternal Order of Eagles Club of Willoughby, and the IBEW Local 38 Electrician Wiremen. He will be most remembered for being social, outgoing, funny and witty; loving the outdoors, life, animals and people.  He will be missed by many.

Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Divine Word Catholic Church at 10:30 AM. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Tommy at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) FRIDAY 3-5 & 6-8 PM, and at THE CHURCH SATURDAY MORNING 9:30-10:30 AM. Online obituary and guestbook at www.DeJohnCares.com.
