Theresa Breznikar

THERESA “Rezi” BREZNIKAR (nee Gregorcic), age 88, beloved wife of the late John “Janez”; loving mother of Margaret Mangosh (husband David), Jenny Sagers (husband David) and Martina Norton (husband James); devoted grandmother of Christopher (wife Tawna), Matthew, Kelly, Elizabeth, Ian, Amanda, Emma and Joseph.  Survived by Ani, Rupert, and Minka all of Slovenia.  Pre-deceased by two siblings.

Theresa “Rezi” Gregorcic was born on September 29, 1931 in Sentrupert, Slovenia. Upon escaping communist Yugoslavia Rezi married John “Janez” Breznikar in Salzburg, Austria.  Rezi and Janez moved to Cleveland in 1959.   Upon starting a family Rezi and John moved to Euclid in 1970.  In Euclid  Rezi raised her family while being a member of  St. William Catholic Church now Ss. Robert & William Catholic Church.  She was an avid member of Slovenska Pristava and its Pensioners Club.  At Pristava she enjoyed winning multiple trophies while playing balinca with her friends.   She instilled the love for baking, cooking, gardening to her three daughters.  In addition she enjoyed traveling to the Finger Lakes, Las Vegas, the Bahamas and Slovenia. Sadly, Rezi passed away on May 25, 2020.  She will be remembered most as a loving mother and proud grandmother.  Rezi will be dearly missed by many.

Mass of Christian Burial Saturday May 30, 2020 at Ss. Robert & William Catholic Church at 9:30 AM. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Rezi at THE ZEVNIK-COSIC FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) FRIDAY  4-7 PM. (Family requests PLEASE wear Masks).
