Theodore C. Lomac

Theodore C. Lomac age 94; predeceased by Mary (nee Moses) his wife of 59 years; father of Tanya and Lara (Laura McElroy); son of the late Charles and Helen (nee Rishaw) Lomac.

Ted was born in Cleveland, Ohio and studied at Case Western Reserve on the GI bill after fulfilling his draft service during the Korean conflict. Following graduation, he began a career in teaching at Shore Junior High in Euclid, Ohio. There he met the love of his life, Mary. Their courtship and early marriage included meeting for dinner after their respective weekly bowling leagues. He loved reading (especially the newspaper and science), bowling, puzzling, going to movies, whipping up a new cocktail to accompany Mary’s cooking and was always a willing participant in shenanigans that she dreamed up. His children often found him tinkering in projects around the house, when asked what he was doing his response was always “playing”.

After retirement, he enjoyed time learning about and traveling to new places with the Road Scholars. He and Mary were season ticket holders of the Cleveland Orchestra, Great Lakes Theater, and Playhouse Square. 

He was a man of few words but was caring and generous. He also had a sarcastic wit enjoyed by those who attended parties hosted by Mary. We will miss his spunky spirit.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Ted at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) Wednesday, January 29, 2025, from 3-7 PM. A Celebration of Life Service will take place at 3PM and visitation will begin at the completion. A private burial will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery.
