Gezon, and following her mother’s death, by her stepmother Anne K. Gezon.  Family was very important to Caroline, she was the eldest of four siblings, Don, Cindy, and Bill, and she treasured them and their families. While in graduate school, Caroline met John Angus in Ann Arbor, Michigan. They married in 1960 and moved to Minnesota after John completed his PhD. In 1963 they moved to Cleveland, Ohio where their children Lorraine and Charles were later born.

Caroline had a lifelong curiosity and love of learning. Her education began in a one room school in rural Michigan. She graduated from National Cathedral School for Girls in Washington D.C., earned her undergraduate degree in Political Science from Michigan State University, and a masters degree in Guidance and Counseling from the University of Michigan. In the 1970s she pursued a call to the ministry, and studied at Case Western Reserve University and Seabury Western Theological Seminary.

She began her working life teaching 6th grade in Dearborn Michigan and St. Paul Minnesota. Caroline was Director of Christian Education for St. Christopher Episcopal Church, Roseville Minnesota, and Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Cleveland. Caroline was ordained to the transitional diaconate and the Episcopal priesthood in 1983. She was mentored by Bishops John H. Burt and Arthur B. Caroline served St. Luke Episcopal Church, Cleveland for 16 years, retiring as rector in 1998. She served in leadership positions in several community organizations including the West Side Ecumenical Ministry, the Detroit Shoreway Community Development Organization, the West 65th Street Ecumenical Cluster, the Ohio Scottish Games Board of Trustees, Ohio Scottish Arts School, and the Lawrence School Board of Trustees.

In retirement Caroline and John enjoyed travel and time with their friends and family, including their adored grandchildren Rebecca and Theodore Hubish, and their beloved collie, Mairi.
