SUZANNE “SUZY” MARSTON NOVELLO BAKO age 58, beloved wife for 21 years of Imre “Jim”; loving mother of Stephanie Bares, Matthew Bares, and Cory Bako; devoted grandmother of Nikki Bares and Domenic Kniss; cherished daughter of the late Mauro “Mo” and Constance “Connie” (nee Marston) Novello; dearest sister of Jan Vondrasek (husband Zeke deceased), Nancy Novello, and John Novello (wife Barb) treasured niece of Charles Marston (wife Sue), and the late J. Tucker Marston (wife Jeanne); much loved Godmother to Jianna Colello. She leaves behind precious cousins and many treasured friends.
Suzy was born June 12, 1962 and died suddenly June 5, 2021. Suzy grew up in Gates Mills. She spent 25 years in Mayfield Heights and the last nine years in Novelty with her husband Jim. She was a member of the St. Christopher By-the River Church. Suzy attended and graduated from Mayfield High School in 1980. She worked as healthcare coordinator for the Cleveland Clinic for the last 17 years, most recently serving at Hillcrest Hospital in Radiology.
Suzy loved all animals, including fish and tortoise but especially her dogs Zeus and Milo. She loved cooking and talking about her favorite recipes with her family and friends. It seemed like wherever the conversation started, it ended with cooking. She especially liked to prepare the recipes that had been handed down from her mom.
Suzy’s grandchildren were the center of her life. She was a very active grandmother, hosting sleepovers, taking the grandkids swimming, to the park, and was always ready with a snack. She was happy to do whatever her grandkids asked of her. Suzy was as fantastic as a grandmother as she was a mom. She was adored by her family.
Suzy had an infectious laugh and a wonderful sense of humor. Despite any difficulties life sent her way, Suzy was always smiling. She cared about everyone. She will be remembered for her dimples, loving heart, and caring spirit.
She will be missed by all.
