SUSAN C. (nee Spear) MUGRIDGE

Susan C. Mugridge, age 75, passed away unexpectedly on April 2, 2016. She was a resident of Mayfield Heights for the past five years, formerly residing in Cleveland Heights for more than 40 years. Susan was born November 2, 1940 in Cleveland to the late Edward and Madlyn (nee Tanno) Spear.

Susan was a receptionist at Brookdale Senior Living Center in Cleveland Heights. She loved playing cards (especially poker) with her lifelong friends. Susan was a quiet and private woman who loved her grandchildren. She liked watching sporting events, and cheering for the Cleveland Indians throughout the years.

She is survived by her children Martha Verde, Edwin Mugridge, Michael Spear (wife Catherine); grandchildren, Christian and Katherine Verde, and Samantha and Zachary Spear; sister Nancy Ryzner and many nieces and nephews; and companion Joel Cohen.

Beside her parents, Susan was preceded in death by her son Matthew J. Mugridge and her brother William Spear (wife Cassie).

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate Susan’s life at The DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home of South Euclid, 4600 Mayfield Rd. (just east of Green Rd.) on Thursday, April 7 from 3-6 PM.
