Soen Liang Tjoe, M.D.

SOEN LIANG TJOE, M.D. age 81, passed away on July 22, 2019.  He was the beloved husband for 37 years of Yuan Tjoe; loving father of Steven Tjoe (wife Xin Nie) and Benita Tjoe, M.D.; dearest brother of Li Wen Tjoe, Tjutju Hartani, and the late Joe Liang Tjoe; treasured brother-in-law of George Yuan, Jim Yuan, and the late Gary Yuan; dear uncle of many.

Soen was born on July 6, 1938 in Indonesia and was the eldest of four. In 1967, Soen received his doctorate in medicine from National Taiwan University. Thereafter, he moved to Cleveland for his training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at St. Luke’s Hospital and the Cleveland VA Medical Center. He began his career at Hillcrest Hospital, where he practiced until his retirement in 2011. He married his wife Yuan in 1982 and resided in the Village of Gates Mills. Soen will be remembered as a loving, generous, dedicated man who was endlessly caring of his patients and his family alike. He will be dearly missed.

Celebration of Life Service on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at 11 AM at THE FUNERAL HOME. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Soen at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND, 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) on Monday, July 29, 2019 at 4-8 PM.
