Sister Mary Jane Olatta, Snd

Our dear Sister Mary Jane (94), (formerly Sister Mary Joanette) very quietly and peacefully went home to God on Sunday morning, November 3, at 5:30 a.m. Sister’s entire life was devoted to some form of education: teacher, administrator, director of curriculum, librarian, assistant in the province archives. She was a life-long learner, having received a Fulbright Award for study in India and fifteen grants from the National Endowment for the Humanities. An avid reader, Sister always had a stack of books at hand—it was her greatest hobby! May Sister Mary Jane be welcomed into the eternal presence of our good and loving God.

Services will be on Monday, November 11. Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:45 followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 5:00. Rev. J. Mark Hobson will be the main celebrant and homilist. Supper for all will be served in the main dining room after burial prayers in chapel. The burial will be on Tuesday, November 12, at 10:30.
