Shelby Jean D'Agostino (nee Stone), age 87, beloved wife of Ralph for 61 years, cherished mother of Lawrence (Gracie) and Michelle, devoted grandmother of Marissa Willner (Ken) and great grandmother of Evelyn. Devoted daughter of the late James L. and Lottie Stone, dear sister of three brothers and three sisters, all deceased, treasured friend and dear aunt, beloved by many.
Shelby was born on Dec. 14, 1937, in Ashford, West Virginia, before eventually moving to Cleveland, where she worked downtown at Grant's Department Store, and met Ralph, the love of her life. They married in 1964 and moved to Lake County and started their family. In addition, Shelby provided loving day care in her home to countless dozens of children over the years whom she loved as if her own, beginning in Willoughby and later in Mentor, where she and Ralph made their home for more than 50 years. A woman of strong faith, Shelby was loved by all who knew her, including her beloved dogs, whom we know eagerly greeted and welcomed her at the Rainbow Bridge, whereas in a favorite song of Shelby's, "The circle will be unbroken, by and by Lord, by and by. There's a better home awaiting, in the sky, Lord, in the sky."
