SARAH A. "SALLY" PARRINO, age 101, cherished aunt of Mary Jane Parrine, Ph.D. (Ed), Thomas Parrino, M.D. (Patricia and Nancy Dec.), Jerry Parrino (Maria), Joanne Cahill (Brian), and the late Stefani & Lisa Parrino; beloved daughter of the late Antonio and Domenica Parrino (nee Maenza) ; dearest sister of the late John (Dorothy), Louis (Molly), Nick, (Norma and Mercedes), Judge Thomas J. (Mary Angela), and Mary Parrino; dear aunt and great-aunt of many.
Sally was born on December 20, 1923 and spent her whole life in the Greater Cleveland area. She is a graduate of John Adams High School. Sally spent much of her working career as a manager with Prudential Insurance at a time when most women had not yet made it to leadership positions in the workplace. When not working, Sally could be found volunteering at Valley Save-A-Pet, where she shared her love and care for animals. She lived with her sister, Mary, for most of her life. Over the years, they went on many trips and adventures together and loved raising several cats.
Sally also had a "green thumb" and enjoyed gardening and reading. A devout Catholic, her deep faith guided her throughout life. Growing up with four older brothers, she always followed sports and was an avid Browns, Cavs, and Guardians fan. But her favorite thing was being an aunt to her six nieces and nephews and their families, as well as to the many other friends in her life who affectionately called her "Aunt Sally." She cherished her family, and spending time with them was what brought her the most joy. Those who knew her would also remember her great sense of humor, which was a staple in the Parrino family. Sally was always able to see the bright side of life -- Some say that her positive outlook was her "superpower" and her secret to living such a long happy life. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Contributions in Sally's memory may be made to Eliza Jennings, 2345 Crocker Road, Westlake, OH 44145.
