SALVATORE L. “SAM” “DOC” MANCINI age 87, beloved husband for 60 years of Betty (nee Fink); cherished son of the late Salvatore and Louisa (nee Guida); dearest brother of the late Cecile Harbst, Theresa “Bone” Notarsanti, Jerry, Patsy, and Louise Ducic; dear brother-in-law of the late Evelyn Lorenzo, Carl Fink, and Jean Fedorka; dear uncle and great-uncle of many. Sam was born on January 7, 1930 and passed away on January 9, 2017. He was a 14 year resident of Euclid formerly of Collinwood/Nottingham area. He was a parishioner of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Sam enjoyed betting on horses and loved animals especially his feline E.T. and his canine Lucky. He worked briefly as an electrician and for the railroad. Sam’s family would describe him as a philosopher, some of his favorite quotes being, “I spit the bit”, “I am paying for the soda”, “No man got the best of me but Father Time is kicking the Hell out of me”. He loved everybody, and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial Friday, January 13, 2017 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church 15712 Kipling Ave, Cleveland, OH 44110 at 10 AM. Burial following at Lake View Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Sam at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) THURSDAY 3-5 & 6-8 PM.
