SALVATORE “SAM” A. LUCA, age 80, of Highland Hts died at Hillcrest Hospital on August 7, 2015. Sam was born June 30, 1935 in Cleveland. He has been a resident of Highland Hts since 1968. Sam was the beloved husband for 58 years of Mary L. (nee Simone-Davis); loving father of Salvatore “Sal”, John (wife Mary) and the late Anthony; devoted “Papa” of Nicole Simcic (husband Joe), April, Brandon, Sarah, Matthew and Francis; cherished son of the late Pasquale and Lena (nee Cafarielli); dearest brother of the late Joe “Bimp” (Teresa, deceased), Tony (Clara), Jennie Flood, Guido (Florence, deceased) (Rita, deceased), Carlo, Rose Tilocco, Frank and Nancy Bertolone (Sonny, deceased); dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend of many.

Sam graduated from John Adams High School was a bricklayer by trade and belong to the Bricklayers Union Local #5. Sam loved gardening and his family will remember him as a loving, generous, thoughtful, caring and very hardworking man. He was always very curious and inquisitive asking questions to gain knowledge about many subjects.

Relatives and friends are invited to meet for Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church 5384 Wilson Mills Rd Highland Hts 44143 at 10 AM. Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. Burial will take place at a later date at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Sam at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) TUESDAY 3-5 and 6-8 PM.
