Ruth Lucille Kay

RUTH LUCILLE KAY (nee Davidson) age 103 1/2, beloved wife for 50 years of the late Donald; loving mother of Linda Kay Marrie (husband James, deceased) and the late Bonnie Samson (husband Robert); devoted grandmother of Ryan Marrie (wife Terri), Kerwin Samson, Kristen Morelli (husband Anthony),  Kimberly Samson and great-grandmother of Claire, Connor, Kayleigh and Mackenzie. 

Ruth was born on May 5, 1915 and passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 1, 2018. She grew up in Collinwood and graduated in 1933 from Collinwood High School. Ruth moved to East Cleveland where her and her husband Donald raised their family. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church for 65 years. Ruth truly enjoyed a good card game, especially Kings in the Corner, Cribbage and Pinochle. She loved lawn bowling and watching the Indians. Ruth fully lived life and traveled the world. She was an avid pianist and enjoyed Big Band music. Ruth was a sweet and loving woman with a smile that lit up the room. She was strong willed and liked a good joke. Ruth will be remembered as friendly and kind. She will be forever missed.

Contributions may be made in memory of Ruth to Vinney Hospice of Montefiore 1 David Myers Pkwy, Beachwood, OH 44122. Celebration of Life Service Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at the FUNERAL HOME at 11 AM. Burial following at Acacia Memorial Park Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Ruth at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) TUESDAY 4-7PM.
