Russell Dennis “Rusty” King, Sr. of Aquilla Village, age 48, passed away suddenly in his sleep on February 27, 2014 at his home. He is survived by his wife Jeannie (nee Jaite),daughter Crystal (fiance Jeff Morrison), mother Shirley (nee Frazier) King of Michigan, brothers Randall (Theresa) Huston, Craig (Lori) King, Kris (Veronica) King and sister Brenda (Dale) Wiley. He is also survived by his in-laws Charles (Gail) Jaite, Christine (Timothy) Fuller, Bob (Eva) Jaite, Gretchen and Dale Wedge, Curtis Jaite, Evonne Jaite, Mary (David) Pusey and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his son Russell D. King, Jr., father Dennis King, sister Cindy Phillips, father-in-law Raymond Goodwin, mother-in-law Josephine (nee Regina) Jaite Goodwin, nephew Brian Wiley and niece Brandy King.
Rusty was born on December 20, 1965 in Muskegon, Michigan and lived in Aquilla Village for the past 43 years. Rusty attended Chardon High School. Rusty was a self-employed flooring installer for 29 years, specializing in carpets. He loved spending time with his family fishing, hunting, camping and canoeing. He belonged to the horseshoe club in Middlefield. He enjoyed taking his son Russell and his friends on “youth hunts” down in southern Ohio. He was known for his “Rusty Ribs” and all the good times under his oak tree in the backyard – good times with good people. Rusty loved to help others any way he could.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Chardon United Methodist Church, 515 North St., Chardon, Ohio. The family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Rusty at THE DEJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY OF CHARDON (formerly Ritondaro), 126 SOUTH ST. (Rt. 44, south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) on TUESDAY FROM 2:00 TO 7:00 PM.
