Roy Wisniewski

Roy H. Wisniewski, age 94; beloved husband of the late Frances (nee Hein); loving father of Juanita Hines (husband Donald), Karl (wife Karin) and the late, David (wife Cindee); devoted grandfather of 7 and great-grandfather of 11; preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

Roy served in the US Army during WWII in the Philippines and then in Japan after the US occupation. He was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Chardon and a member of NARFE, retired government employees. Roy worked as a mail carrier for the US Postal Service from 1954 to 1982 when he retired. In the 1960’s and 70’s he belonged to various bowling leagues and upon retiring he loved to play golf with his brother Carl. He loved traveling with his wife, walking, all animals, watching the hummingbirds and doted on his cat, Patch.

Contributions may be made in Roy’s memory to The American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.

Mass of Christian Burial Friday, September 5, 2014 at St. Mary Catholic Church 401 North Street, Chardon at 11:30 AM. Burial following with Military Honors at Chardon Cemetery.
