Roy Schabo

ROY G. SCHABO age 96,  beloved husband of the late Barbara (nee Atkins); loving father of Sally Siegler (husband Sandy), Peter (wife Kathy) and the late Gordon; devoted grandfather of Elisa and Scott Siegler (wife Lindsey), Andrew Schabo (wife Trish), Kate Sprinkle (husband Walker), Ari (fiancée Erika Lahti) and Chelsea Schabo (fiancé Joshua Canganelli) and great-grandfather of Sadie, Sonny, Lily, Jacob, Gordon, Parker, Hudson and Tatum. WWII U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran.

Roy was born on September 29, 1921 in Buffalo, New York and passed away on November 23, 2017. He was a resident of Novelty since 1971, formerly of Lyndhurst. Roy graduated from Cleveland Heights High School in 1938 and from Case Institute of Technology in 1942 with an engineering degree. He retired in 1984 from General Electric where he was a plant manager and mechanical engineer. Roy loved golf, bowling, flying and was an Indians fan. He will be remembered most as a very handy, intelligent, and reserved man who was good with his hands. Roy could take on any task and had a great smile. He will be greatly missed.

Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. Celebration of Life Service with Military Honors Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 11 AM at THE FUNERAL HOME. Burial private at Riverview Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Roy at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) WEDNESDAY MORNING 10-11 AM.
