ROSEMARY “MITZIE” MITRI (nee Grzincic) age 90, beloved wife of the late Anthony; loving mother of Anthony (wife Jenny), Laurel (Morello, DDS) Busan (husband Nicholas) and Marianne Mitri; devoted grandmother of Michelle Reaves (husband Scott), Paul and Anthony Morello, and Grace Mitri and great-grandmother of Taviana Reaves; cherished daughter of the late John and Josephine (nee Mozina) Grzincic; dearest sister of the late William Grzincic and Jenny Motsch (husband Joe, deceased); dear aunt and great-aunt.
Mitzie was born on August 8, 1927 in the coal mining town of Thompson No. 1, Pennsylvania and passed away on September 23, 2017. She was a resident of South Euclid and a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish for 43 years. Mitzie graduated from East High School in 1945 and Kent State University in 1949. She married the love of her life, Tony, at St. Vitus Catholic Church. Mitzie was a member of the South Euclid Historical Society. She was a finished and fine art artist with Higbee’s & The May Company for over 20 years and later became a self-employed freelance artist. Mitzie loved golf, cards, visiting art museums and traveling Europe. She will be remembered most as a vibrant, independent and intelligent woman. Mitzie was remarkably creative, thoughtful and compassionate, a gift to us all, who will be greatly missed.
Mass of Christian Burial Friday, September 29, 2017 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish at 9:30 AM. Burial following at Knollwood Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Mitzie at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) THURSDAY 3-8 PM.
