ROSEMARIE M. SZABO (nee Rakoczy), age 82; beloved wife of the late Antal Joseph; loving mother of Antal II (Pamela) of Madison, Susan Pelotte (Lawrence) of KY, Stephen (Tina) of OK and the late David (Tomme); devoted grandmother of Desiree, Christa (Matthew), Andrea, Sara Vasquez (Gabriel), Joseph and Dianne Cooke and great-grandmother of Brayden, Aubrey and a great-grandchild, baby Lasker, due in September; dearest daughter of the late Frank and Rose (nee Iswak) Rakoczy; cherished sister of John Rakoczy (wife Carol) of Newbury and the late Frank Rakoczi (wife Mary Ann) of Newbury; dear sister-in-law of Louis and Barbara Szabo of Conneaut, and the late John and Barbara Szabo, Joseph and Ella Szabo, Katherine Szabo and Elizabeth Welch and her in-laws, John and Barbara Szabo. Rosemarie was the treasured aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Rosemarie was born December 29, 1932 in Windber, PA and passed away April 18, 2015 in Chardon. Rosemarie has lived in Conneaut Lake, PA since 1969, previously residing in the Hungarian Buckeye Road neighborhood of Cleveland. She married Antal J. Szabo on August 9, 1952 in Cleveland, OH. She was a parishioner at Our Lady Queen of Americas in Conneaut Lake where she was a member of The Good Samaritans, helping the less fortunate and taught Sunday School. Rosemarie was a lifetime parishioner of St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Cleveland and a parishioner of St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church in Saegertown, PA. She was a pro-life advocate. She graduated from Marymount High School. She enjoyed working at Spencer Hospital in Meadville, Pennsylvania as a nursing assistant in the labor and delivery department. She and her husband owned and operated a small farm in Conneaut Lake, PA for several years. Rosemarie was a great cook and baker. She loved singing and music, specifically organ, guitar and harmonica and listening to Classical and Hungarian music. Rosemarie loved dancing and crafts. She will be remembered most as a loving, saintly, compassionate person, that was beautiful inside and out. Rosemarie had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. Rosemarie was pristine, very pious and faithful to the Lord.

Mass of Christian Burial Friday, April 24, 2015 at St. Helen Catholic Church 12060 Kinsman Rd., Newbury at 11 AM. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Rosemarie at THE DeJohn Funeral Home & Crematory of Chardon (formerly Ritondaro) 126 South St. (Rt. 44, south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) THURSDAY 4-8 PM.
