ROSALIA “ZALKA” LIKOZAR age 83, passed away on March 25, 2014 at her residence. She was born September 12, 1930 in Polje, Slovenia and was forced to emigrate to Spittal, Austria after WW II in one of the many displaced persons’ camps due to the imposition of communism in Slovenia. She came to the US and lived in the St. Clair Avenue neighborhood. In 1955, she married Joseph (Joze) Likozar in St. Vitus Church and settled on Norwood Rd. until moving to Highland Heights, Ohio.

Mrs. Likozar was a member of the St. Vitus Parish Altar and Rosary Society, LIRA Choir, KSKJ Lodge, Slovenska Pristava Pensioners, Korotan Mixed Singing Chorus, Slovenian Mission Association (MZA) and was a teacher for the St. Vitus Slovenian Language School for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph (Joze), parents Rozalia (nee Bercic) and Josip Hirschegger, stepmother Ivana (nee Sevsek) Hirschegger, siblings Ernest, Rudi, Mari, Joze, and Andrej. She is survived by her children Martin (Sally), Catherine (Edward) Cup and Paulina (Matthew) Rudmann, grandchildren Robert Likozar, David (Bridget) and Maria Cup, Andrew, John, Joseph, Max, Blaise, Mateja and Majdi Rudmann, many nieces and nephews in England, Argentina and USA.

Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Friday March 28, 2014 at St. Vitus Church followed by burial in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township. Family will receive friends at the Zevnik-Cosic Funeral Home 28890 Chardon Rd. Willoughby Hills, OH Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.

Family suggests memorial donations in her name to St. Vitus Church 6019 Lausche Ave. Cleveland, OH 44103.
