Robert S. Cromling

ROBERT S. CROMLING, age 89; devoted husband for 61 years of Helen T. (nee Tsarones); loving father of Valerie Wilson; dearest grandfather of Christopher (wife Emily) and Eric Wilson and great-grandfather of Isabella and Cole. Bob was a World War II US Army Veteran and Purple Heart recipient. After graduating from Elyria High School, Bob attended and graduated from Miami University where he was a member of the Men’s Glee Club and Phi Delta Theta. Later, he worked as a credit supervisor for GMAC until his retirement. An active member of St. Clare Catholic Church, Bob was a lector, choir member and counted the collections on Sundays. He volunteered at Hillcrest Hospital for over 25 years and loved to sing with the Barber Shop Chorus. He worked for DeJohn Funeral Homes from 1988 until present as a Greeter and a Driver.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Bob’s memory to Hospice of the Western Reserve 17876 St Clair Ave, Cleveland, OH 44110.

Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, May 18, 2013 at St Clare Catholic Church at 10:30 AM with Military Honors to follow. Private burial at St Mary Cemetery in Elyria. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Bob at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) FRIDAY 2-4 and 5-7 PM.
