Robert Ryan

ROBERT E. RYAN, age 85, beloved father of Salvatrese “Sali”, Richard and Christine Ryan and Melissa Valore (husband Scott); loving grandfather of David and Pvt Daniel Ryan, USMC, Alexa, Michael and Marissa Valore; cherished son of the late James and Anne (nee Zubal); dearest brother of the late Thomas (wife Gaye, deceased) and William (wife Ginny); former husband of Loretta Ryan (nee Pastore); dear uncle and great-uncle of many.

Robert has lived in Mayfield Heights for the past 11 years, previously in Highland Heights. He has been a faithful member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for more than five years; he has also been a member of St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church and St. Clare Catholic Church. Bob was a member of the Lions Club and a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He grew up in Pennsylvania attending St. Michael High School and graduating from the University of Pittsburgh. Bob worked as an electrical engineer for Republic and LTV Steel. He loved to golf, computers, listening to Classical music and was an avid reader. Bob was a true Cleveland sports fan; he loved to watch the Indians, Browns and Cavaliers. He will be remembered most as a critical thinker, reliable, loving and generous man with a mission of devotion to his special needs daughter Christine. Bob believed that education was very important for everyone, especially his grandchildren.

Contributions may be made in Bob’s memory to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church or St. Clare Catholic Church.

Prayers of Christian Burial Saturday, April 4, 2015 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church at 9:30 AM. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Bob at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) FRIDAY 3-7 PM.
