ROBERT GEORGE ROLAN, PhD

Bob’s family was fortunate to express their love and good byes before he passed away July 2, 2015 at the age of 77.

Bob was a gentle giant who lived an amazing and fascinating life.  He had lived in Japan for several years in his youth, during that time, as an Eagle Scout, had climbed Mt. Fuji.  Bob continued climbing ~ his career began after earning his PhD at Nebraska State University.  A College Professor at Nebraska State, Cleveland State and Findlay ~ his career in the Environmental Sciences began at Dalton, Dalton, Newport/URS thru his retirement from BP America as the Mgr of Ecology and Contingency Planning.  After which, he started consulting as a wet lands environmentalist doing delineations in addition to being co-owner of The Firehouse in Willoughby Hills.

Wife, Georgi, and sons, Kevin (Becky) & Bret (Laurie), will miss his wonderful sense of humor and love of family.  Bob’s passion of specific causes and people that mattered to him ran deep.

In addition to his wife and sons, he leaves 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Terri Rolan, brothers-in-law Fritz (Andy) Marinko and Robb Marinko, several nieces, nephews and extended family.

His death is preceded by his parents, George & Olive Rolan, and brother David.

Per his wishes, Bob will be cremated with a Celebration of Life to be held at a future date.
