Robert (Bob) Pattie of Mayfield Heights, Ohio, formerly from Cleveland Heights was born February 11, 1926, in Cleveland, Ohio and passed away peacefully on January 15, 2024 at age 97.
Beloved father of Ronald (wife Pamela), Diane, Steve (Patti Morse), Jeffrey (wife Debbie), Bill (wife Claire) and the late Bob (wife Meg). Former husband of the late Marian (nee Lucas) and significant other and life-long partner of Maria Masseria. Devoted grandfather of 17, great-grandfather of 35, and great-great grandfather of 1. Treasured son of the late Samuel and Augusta (nee Haffner). Dearest brother of JoAnne Fessenmeyer (husband George deceased) and the late Dorothy Hennie (husband Ralph deceased) and Vincent (wife Jeanette deceased). Dear uncle and great-uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Bob graduated in 1944 from Shaw High School, where he was a member of the football team, a star running back and a member of the band. He played clarinet and saxophone throughout his life and made a career in music. Bob joined the US Army during WWII. After the war he taught music at Holy Name High School, Trinity High School, and Chanel High School. He touched many lives with private music lessons at Academy Music and Shaker Hts. Middle School. He played music with The Vince Patti Orchestra, The Harry Hershey Orchestra and he formed his own orchestra The Bob Pattie Orchestra. Bob loved music and he enjoyed working in his yard. Bob was an avid sports fan, especially of the Browns and Indians.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Bob to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
Mass of Christian Burial Friday, January 19, 2024 at 10 AM at St. Francis Of Assisi Catholic Church, 6850 Mayfield Road, Gates Mills, OH 44040. Please meet at church. Entombment following with military honors at Knollwood Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Bob at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) THURSDAY, 4-8 PM.
