ROBERT O. MEHALIC age 96, beloved husband of the late Katherine A. (nee Stepetic); loving father of Robert M. (Barbara); devoted grandfather of Robert J. and Melanie K. (Ron) Drouin and great-grandfather of Olivia; cherished son of the late Stephen F. and Sarah Jane (nee Bytheway); dearest brother of James M. (Bertha), Shirley J. (Donald) Smith, Thomas K. (Judy), Sandra A. (George) Fischer, and the late Mamie Arlene (John, deceased) Korney, Flora “Toots” (Mitchell, deceased) Fye, Joseph “Petie” (Jean, deceased), David W. (Irene), Dorothy M. (Daniel, deceased) Kantz, Dawna Jean (Lewis, deceased) Adie, and Ronald S. Mehalic; dear uncle and great-uncle of many.

Robert was born on March 1, 1925 in Arcadia, Pennsylvania and passed away on May 30, 2021. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps as a Sergeant, performing aircraft maintenance during WWII and the Korean War era. He was a proud member of the American Legion Post 0569 in Spangler, Pa for 74 years. Bob dedicated 36 years at The Chemical Products Plant by General Electric on Ivanhoe Road in Cleveland, Ohio. Strong in his faith, he attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Wickliffe. In the early years of his life he enjoyed golfing and throughout the years continuously loved to bowl.

Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 29850 Euclid Ave, Wickliffe, OH 44092, at 10 AM.

Burial following with Military Honors at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Bob at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) MONDAY 4-8 PM.
