Bob was born in Cleveland in 1937 and raised in Garfield Heights. He was a 1955 graduate of Benedictine, followed by John Carroll University. Bob and his wife Dianne married in 1959. They were residents for 25 years of Mentor and parishioners of St. Mary’s of the Assumption in Mentor. Previously, they were 24-year residents of Lyndhurst where they raised their son Robert Jr. and their daughter Catherine. For 36 years he was employed by Ohio Bell Telephone rising from lineman to engineering manager before retiring in 1991. Bob loved good coffee and seafood, working in his yard, listening to classical music, model railroading, and sharing the company of good friends. He enjoyed traveling, especially trips to Europe and Canada after retirement. A self-taught and gifted handyman, he was never too busy to help out a family member or neighbor. He possessed great curiosity often stimulated by travel experiences and new challenging technology. He treasured most the simple pleasures of time spent at home and with family. Bob had a fantastic sense of humor and a way about him to make one smile and share in his joy of life. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity and endless caring, which touched the lives of his family, friends and acquaintances in ways that will keep him in our hearts and lives forever.
