Robert Knotek

ROBERT J. KNOTEK age 93, beloved husband for 64 years of Marian J.   (nee Klasson); loving father of Robert A., David A. (wife Lana deceased), and Joan Hinkle (husband Robert); devoted grandfather of Mary Kristen Morelli (husband Brian), Daniel (deceased), and April Lagman (husband Curtis) and great-grandfather of Matthew, Jenna, Ava, and Lucy Rain; cherished son of the late Robert T. and Julia (nee Poremba); dearest brother of the late Florence Farrar; dear uncle and great-uncle of many. U.S. Coast Guard Veteran.

Bob Knotek was born February 6, 1927 and died peacefully, surrounded by his family, on November 17th, 2020. He spent most of his life in Lyndhurst.  Bob graduated from Benedictine High School in 1945. He joined the Coast Guard and then  went on to attend John Carroll University, graduating in 1950. He spent his career as a railroad official for CSX Railroad.  He was an active member of St Clare Catholic church, serving as a Eucharistic Minister and volunteering as a funeral server. He enjoyed playing golf and stamp collecting. He was a sports enthusiast, a fan of the Cleveland Browns and Indians and John Carroll Blue Streaks.   Those who loved him describe Bob as happy go lucky, outgoing and hardworking. Bob was devoted to his family and faith. He is remembered as very loyal and dedicated with a wonderful sense of humor.  

He will be missed by all.

Mass of Christian Burial Friday, November 20, 2020 at St. Clare Catholic Church 5659 Mayfield Rd, Lyndhurst, OH 44124 at 10 AM. Burial following with Military Honors at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Bob at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) FRIDAY MORNING, 8:30-9:30 AM.
