ROBERT J. MARN, age 69; beloved husband of the late Jane (nee Fleming); loving father of Robert (partner Michael Benoit), Laurie Preston (husband Jeff “Jay”) and Christine Harrell (husband Richard); devoted grandfather of Kai and Lexi Preston, Richard “RC” and Graeme Harrell; cherished son of the late Phillip S. and Phyllis (nee Hite); dearest brother of Marlene Suhadolnik (husband Bob), Phillip “Jim” (wife Audrey), Marjorie Kafka (husband Paul), Lillian Steele (husband Chuck), Terry Polsak and the late Phyllis “Honey” Kramer and Linda Pennington (husband John, deceased); dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend of many.

Bob was a US Coast Guard Veteran. A graduate of St. Joseph High School and Cleveland State University, he was the CFO for Chilcote Co. Bob was a former member of St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church when he lived in Euclid and then joined St. Mary Catholic Church when he moved to Chardon in 1999. He was active in the Munson Township Park and Recreation Board, Habitat for Humanity and the VASJ Endowment Board. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking, car restoration, gardening, travel, walking and listening to the Rolling Stones. He will be remembered as a family oriented man who was organized, hardworking, sensitive, kind, had a great sense of humor and valued spending time with his family.

U.S. Coast Guard Veteran. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Bob’s memory to American Red Cross, American Heart Association or the United States Lifesaving Association. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, July 13, 2013 at St. Mary Catholic Church 401 North Street, Chardon at 10:00 AM. Burial with military honors following in All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Bob at THE DEJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY OF CHARDON (formerly Ritondaro) 126 SOUTH ST. (Rt. 44, south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) FRIDAY 3-8 PM.
