ROBERT JOSEPH HOGAN age 80, loving father of Karen Hogan-Loventhal (husband Gregg Loventhal), Theresa Joherl (husband William, Sr.), and Debra Babicz; devoted grandfather of William “Billy” Joherl, Jr. (deceased), Hunter Babicz, Julia Joherl, Gunnar Babicz, Luke Joherl, and Jake Joherl; cherished son of the late William and Florence (nee Novak) Hogan of Newbury, OH; dear friend of many.
Bob was born in Cleveland on October 6, 1941 and died peacefully on November 24, 2021. Bob graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1959 and attended John Carroll University, afterwards. He lived most of his life in Willoughby Hills, working for Euclid Inc. as a Buyer in the Purchasing Department and spent his last few working years in Virginia. Bob then lived his last 5 years at the Willoughby Hills Senior Apartments, where he volunteered as the Activity Director in charge of such events as Bingo, Movie Night and other social activities. He loved to help people which gave Bob tremendous joy. Bob was also a huge sports fan. He was a proud season-ticket-holder of the baseball teams The Lake County Captains in Ohio and The Norfolk Tides in Virginia. He was also a big fan of the Cleveland Indians and Browns as well as the Purdue Boilermakers, where his daughter graduated from. He loved collecting sports memorabilia from all of his favorite teams. Bob was also a foodie and thoroughly enjoyed eating together with family and friends. They would describe Bob as being funny and having a good sense of humor. This helped Bob to persevere and remain positive even while dealing with his many health ailments. He will be missed by many.
Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Noel Catholic Church to be announced at a later date. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery. Arrangements by THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND.
