Robert Hamrich

ROBERT H. HAMRICH, SR. age 86; beloved husband for 59 years of Dorothy. (nee Hacker); loving father of Robert H .Jr. (wife Barbara) of FL, Deborah L., and Mark J.; devoted grandfather of Gregory Robert; cherished son of the late Andrew and Maria (nee Gilich); dear brother of Marilyn Miller and the late Martin, Andrew, Edward, Harry, Frieda Holtz and Sophie Nelson.

Bob was a Master P.G.A. Golf Professional and was the golf pro at Mayfield Country Club from 1968 to 1977. Bob was a native of Lyndhurst, Ohio. He attended Ohio State University and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran from 1950 until 1954. Some of his awards included Northern Ohio Professional of the Year 1974, Brush Hall of Fame 1977, Ohio Golfer Magazine Hall of Fame 1985 and President Northern Ohio PGA Seniors. He was selected in 1996 as one of Golf Magazine’s 100 Best Teachers in the United States. Bob wrote over 100 Golf Published Articles and Golf Tips. He was a golf instructor in Golf Schools in New York, Florida, Illinois and Ohio. Bob organized the Bob Hamrich Golf School in Cleveland from 1985-1998. He helped initiate the first U.S. Golf Teaching Program for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Northern Ohio with the Cleveland Sight Center. He had 10 Holes-in-One and 1 Double Eagle.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be in Bob’s memory to Northern Ohio Golf Association Charities & FDN., One Golfview Lane, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070 for the benefit of their golfers with disabilities program and junior golf or Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44110.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday November 19, 2014 at 10:00 AM at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.). Burial following with Military Honors at Knollwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Bob at the FUNERAL HOME on TUESDAY from 3:00 to 7:00 PM
