Robert K. Grisdale

ROBERT K. GRISDALE age 82, beloved husband of Susan Lanning and the late Patricia (nee Gray); loving father of Marian Grisdale (husband Alan Grandy), Christine Dixon (husband Michael), Robert K. Jr. (wife Laura) and Major John C., USMC (Ret) (wife Mary) and step-father of Tracey Lanning, Frank Lanning (wife Cheryl) and David Lanning (wife Dalanda); devoted grandfather of 16 and great-grandfather of 10; cherished son of the late George W., II and Lucile (nee Peters) Grisdale; dearest brother of the late George W., III (wife Patricia) and brother-in-law of Gerald & Lynne Gray; dear uncle, great-uncle and friend of many. 

Bob was born December 6, 1942 in Ephrata, Pennsylvania and graduated in 1960 from Euclid High School. With a project-oriented mindset, he was known for his mantra of “Plan your work and work your plan”. Those words served him well while refurbishing historical cars and doing various home improvement projects. Successfully employed as a pipefitter, he enjoyed using his leisure time golfing, working on tractors and, at times, you might catch him dancing to polka music. Very giving of his time, he was a member of Pipefitters Local 120, the Historical Engine Club and the Cool Cruisers of Naples, Florida. Bob was a very intelligent individual through self-teaching. Of utmost importance to Bob was his family and his faith. Friends will remember his sense of humor and social ease. Bob passed away suddenly on December 16, 2024. His family, who was the center of his world, will forever miss his strength and fatherly guidance.

Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. Celebration of Life Service Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 11AM at THE FUNERAL HOME. Burial will take place at a later date at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Bob at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) SATURDAY MORNING 10-11AM.
