Robert Fisher, of New Smyrna Beach, FL, and Gates Mills, OH, died Monday at home following an illness. He was the husband of Lynne (Seymour) Fisher.
Born in Philadelphia, son of the late Robert and Helen (Brittain) Fisher, he was raised in Jermyn and attended Lakeland High School and Penn State University. Bob was the president of Reliance Medical X-Ray Company in Scranton and Dickson City.
A long-time resident of Fleetville, Bob could often be found coaching his children’s Little League teams, serving on various committees at the Church of the Epiphany in Glenburn, and sitting on the Board of Keystone College. After his retirement, Bob resided in New Smyrna Beach, FL, where he was an active member of St. Peter the Fisherman, and Gates Mills, OH, where he attended St. Christopher by the River.
He is survived by his wife, Lynne; their daughter Gretchen Fisher and husband Michael, Moreland Hills, OH; son Greg Fisher and wife Carrie, Moscow, PA; daughter Rachel Parkman and husband Ted, Foxboro, MA; daughter Elizabeth Herrera and husband Adolfh, Jacksonville, FL; sister Suzanne Harley and husband Wayne, Nicholson, PA; sister Karen Bifano and husband Joe, Terre Haute, IN; seven grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Charlie.
The funeral will be Saturday from Battenberg Funeral Home, 363 Washington Ave, Jermyn, with services at 10:30am at St. James-St. George Episcopal Church, 398 Washington Ave, Jermyn. Interment will follow at Valley View Memorial Park, Jermyn.
Visiting Hours will take place from 6 to 8pm on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions for breast cancer research may be made in Bob’s memory to the Cleveland Clinic Taussig Cancer Institute and sent to Cleveland Clinic Foundation, PO Box 931517, Cleveland OH 44193-1655 or made online at clevelandclinic.org/giving.
