Robert E. Yelochen

ROBERT E. YELOCHEN age 90, beloved husband of the late Betty (nee Ratay); loving father of Deanne Pike (husband Edward), Lisa Kontorchik (husband Edward), and Sherrie Orlandi (husband Paul); devoted grandfather of Bobby Pizzuto (wife Danielle) and Monroe, Kendall, Gavin, Peyton, and the late Devin Orlandi and great-grandfather of Lucas Pizzuto; cherished son of the late Daniel and Mary (nee Mazgon) Yelochen; dearest brother of Aldene Horn (husband Robert, deceased) and the late Betty Yelochen; dear uncle, great-uncle, and “Papa” of many.

Bob was born in Yukon, Pennsylvania on September 20, 1930 and passed away on September 23, 2020. He was a resident of Chesterland since 2017, previously of Mayfield Village, and was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church and the Slovenian group SNPJ. After graduating from high school, Bob served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, then worked as a lab technician for TRW. He enjoyed playing slot machines and listening to polka music, and was a fan of the Steelers, Indians, and Cavaliers. Bob was very social and will be remembered as the “life of the party.” He loved people and having a good time. He was strong-willed but also devoted to his family, especially his grandkids. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Bob to Make-A-Wish Foundation or a charity of your choice.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Bob at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) MONDAY 12 NOON to 1 PM.
